The 415V, three-phase AC motors range from 15 to 315kW and are being used on Weir Pumps in slag slurry, slag granulation, cooling circuit water and recirculation duties via vee belt drive trains.
The effective servicing of these demanding contracts is seen as a deciding factor in the new partnership, which has already called on WEG's ability to provide large stocks and prompt technical support across a comprehensive range of motor variations and sizes.
Taylor and Goodman has already placed a substantial level of WEG motor stock into all its nine branches with an immediate requirement.
Taylor and Goodman branches are located throughout the country, with a strong presence in the South of England.

Under new ownership since May 2002, the business is growing with a comprehensive motor service covering in-house repair and rewinds, commissioning, stock profiled supply, stock control, on site 24h maintenance and complete motor management services.
Stephen Doyle, Sales and Marketing Manager for Taylor and Goodman comments: "It is not just WEG's ability to provide a wide range of low, medium and high voltage motors that has made them an ideal partner for Taylor and Goodman, it is also their product quality and the ability to provide us with prompt, accurate responses to technical and administration queries".
"The latter enables us, as a group to pass on an excellent service level to our customers.
Importantly, WEG's equally wide range of drives and soft start products was attractive to us, as this represents the fastest growing area of our business.
The opportunity to source both products from one supplier is a great benefit in terms of quality, support and again, availability".
"The demand for WEG motors and drives is continuing to grow in the UK", adds David Ede, Managing Director of WEG UK.
"In order to keep pace with this expansion we are working closely with quality distribution and support partners who are able to offer additional services and added value to the end customer.
Taylor and Goodman is precisely this type of business, encompassing knowledge of other specialist areas such as pumps and HV systems and as such, represents an excellent opportunity for WEG to reach a wider audience while maintaining a first class service".
WEG motors are being provided from fractional kilowatt ratings, up to 315kW off the shelf and up to 30MW within the range.
The range extends through standard AC motors, to high efficiency and specialist types such as medium and high voltage, ATEX approved explosion proof motors and smoke extraction motors.
The WEG CFW08 and CFW09 drives range is one of the UK's largest stock range of inverter drives and is supported by an equally extensive choice of soft starters to suit any power range.
