The Fixcon plug-in connection system for sensor-actuator integration connections offers M12 passive integrators that are faster to install and more secure than conventional threaded connections.

With the innovative Fixcon plug-in connection system for sensor-actuator integration connections, Weidmuller offers M12 passive integrators that are faster to install, and more secure than conventional threaded connections.

In collaboration with other major companies, Weidmuller reckons Fixcon will become the new cabling connection standard, especially as the system is compatible with existing M12 cabling systems, so can be retrofitted without total recabling of plant.

The Weidmuller SAI Fixcon range is available in four- and eight-channel distribution models, with a choice of four- or five-pole outgoing connectors, fixed cable or an M23 plug-in input connection.

Fixed-cable version are available in 2, 5 and 10m lengths as standard, with other cable lengths on request.

The dimensions of the fixed-cable versions are 27mm high, whereas the M23 versions are 32mm high to the connector socket.

Both are 54mm wide, and 116mm (four channel) or 152mm long (eight channel).

Each channel is permanently numbered, with two LED indicators per channel, and there is space for personalised marking of each channel.

The Fixcon connections use a push, latch and snap-lock mechanism, with an audible click for rapid, secure insertion; coloured alignment markings also assist correct installation.

All models are rated to IP67, to withstand harsh industrial conditions.

The Weidmuller SAI Fixcon system is rated to 9A in total, 2A per contact and 24V DC.

It is manufactured in rugged, impact resistant thermoplastic with a flammability class UL94V2.
