The Institution of Engineering and Technology has kicked off a search to find the very best young female engineers for its IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year award.
Also leading a seminar at the event will be Chris Dee, Executive Director of BCAS (British Compressed Air Society) who will be discussing the subject of compressed air management.
Compressed air systems play a fundamental role in many production processes and the supply of high quality, reliable compressed air is critical.
Monitoring and targeting of compressed air systems reveal that energy costs can account for up to 75% of the system lifetime costs, therefore any savings made without loss of performance may be substantial.
BCAS has over 75 years experience providing unbiased information for users of compressed air and is working with the Carbon Trust on innovative programmes that reduce energy costs.
Free copies of the Carbon Trust's new Good Practice Guide 385 - "Energy efficient compressed air systems", written by BCAS, will be distributed at the seminar.
According to Exhibition Director, Eamonn Brennan the educational content of the Pemec 2006 event provides a great incentive to visit the event.
"The educational presentations at Pemec 2006 will not be thinly disguised sales messages" he says: "the seminars are independently organised and having the involvement of respected organisations such as ESTA and BCAS ensures that the quality of the information delivered is of the very highest calibre".
"Plus, seminars from these types of organisations are only usually delivered in London or Birmingham whereas the Pemec event brings them to the doorstep".
Topics to be addressed as part of Pemec's educational content include: automation and wireless control; effective energy management; making sensors work for you; compressed air; maintenance strategy; thermography and health and safety.
