Rosahl dehumidification products are extremely compact and light, do not require any emptying, are completely silent, use very little power and have no moving parts or gel to wear or be replaced.

Moisture and humidity have always been a problem for engineers, be it inside cabinets, buildings or simple storage areas, with moisture ingress costing millions of pounds each year in damage and preventative methods.

Rosahl has come up with a solution to small area dehumidification problems.

Traditional dehumidifying solutions are beset with inherent problems, such as size, weight, constant emptying of collection tanks, noise, high power consumption and a limited life expectancy as they use moving parts or need gel replacement.

With Rosahl dehumidification products these problems are removed as Rosahl products are extremely compact and light, do not require any emptying, are completely silent, use very little power and have no moving parts or gel to wear or be replaced.

This product removes moisture from the air from an enclosed area (such as a switch cabinet), absorbs it through the membrane, and then discharges it as air on the other side.

The core component is a solid electrolyte polymer membrane - thi membrane has a very porous inner side which attracts moisture (water droplets that are in the air), which is then absorbed into the membrane.

When the water is in the membrane, DC current (electricity) is used to decompose and break down water into hydrogen and oxygen ions.

These ions are then passed through to the other side of the membrane and then discharged into the air as gas molecules.

Rosahl products are extremely flexible and can be used in a wide variety of dehumidification applications, ranging from sterile rooms through to challenging external environments such as externally housed traffic control cabinets.

The moisture extraction rate of Rosahl products is relatively low compared to larger and noisier conventional desiccant (absorption) and refrigerant (condensing) dehumidifiers, and they are best used in enclosed areas of up to 8m3.

Typical examples of suitable applications are: traffic control and display cabinets; outdoor multimedia screens and displays; telecommunications such as mobile phone outstations; precision equipment storage cabinets; museum displays and exhibition cabinets; reduction of mould in closed rooms; odour reduction; storage of hydroscopic materials; and semiconductor manufacturing.

Since Rosahl products use very little energy compared to other types of humidification, they can be left to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a week continuously extracting moisture from an enclosed area without incurring major energy costs.

In fact, since they need no emptying they can be left just to get on with the job for years without any problems.

Having high relative humidity can affect many things, such as electronic products whose working characteristics can change dramatically with humidity.

Corrosion of metals can occur mainly when humidity is over 50% - reduce humidity to less than 50% and corrosion of metals is drastically reduced.

Bacteria (which causes smells and can damage goods) needs humidity over 50% to survive and multiply.

Mould and funguses need a relative high humidity of over 70% to flourish - keeping the relative humidity less than 50% for more than 95% of the time will help prevent any organic growth.

The Rosahl product range can extract up to 58g of moisture a day in spaces up to 8m3.

Even with the largest units the power consumption is less than 20W, which is less than an energy saving light bulb.

They range in size from 72 x 169 x 35mm for the smallest self contained unit, up to 195 x 370 x 55mm for the largest module.
