Winters Instruments has acquired Aquapay of Cape Town, South Africa Aquapay is a prepaid water and electricity metering system designed to administer and control the monthly issue of water and electricity in South Africa
The metering system is a key benefit for South Africa as the administration of the water supply (ie meter reads, collection of water revenue, connecting and disconnecting water supply etc) is essentially eliminated.
Recent estimates for unpaid water revenue in Cape Town are estimated at R570 million (or approximately US $57 million).
