Stabilizr facilitates accurate pressure readings

A Winters Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 16, 2009

The Winters Stabilizr movement eliminates pointer flutter on dry pressure gauges so pressure readings can be accurately taken.

Pointer flutter is caused by vibration from equipment and makes pressure readings difficult.

It also shortens the life of pressure gauges.

The stabilising mechanism utilises a special stainless-steel cap that seals in the dampening mechanism over a modified pointer shaft.

This creates enough resistance to dampen the pointer and movement just as if the gauge is liquid filled, but without the concerns of leaking fill fluid and possible compatibility issues with the process media.

Because gauges with the Stabilizr movement have dry cases, they can be recalibrated without the hassle of draining and then refilling the cases with fluid.

Winters offers the Stabilizr movement as standard on the PST Stabilizr Series, PSB Premium SS Stabilizr Series, and PPS Stabilizr Process Gauge Series.

It is also available as an option on the PCC Colour Coded Series, PFP Premium Stainless Steel Series, PFQ Stainless Steel Series, PPC Process Gauge Series, and PSC Safety Case Series.
