Compact Rail is an innovative linear bearing that Widney reckons is revolutionising the industry.

Widney UK has extended its product profile to include a range of precision linear slides.

Widney will cover UK sales for the Rollon product range, including Compact Rail, billed as the world's most versatile roller slider system, Easy Rail and Uniline.

These products now enable Widney to compete in sectors where telescopic slides are limited, and further extend the flexibility of Widney to match customer specifications.

This new range offers a compact, high speed and quiet solution to the requirement for linear motion.

Widney will exhibiting these products at East Midlands Manufacturing on on 22nd and 23rd September 2004.

Compact Rail is an innovative linear bearing that Widney reckons is revolutionising the industry.

Based on cold-drawn bearing steel rails with well protected sliders running inside hardened internal raceways, Compact Rail solves problems that design engineers face every day.

Like all Rollon products it saves time and money by offering the smoothest movement in the best protected, easiest to mount package available.

Instead of "forcing the machine to fit the component", Compact Rail is designed to be mounted quickly and easily and will actually absorb misalignments in mounting planes.

The patented T+U and K+U systems can be mounted to surfaces that have not been machined and will "self align" during mounting without modifying their preload or quality of movement.

All the sliders run on hardened, precision, radial ball bearings that guarantee high-speed (up to 9m/s) silent movement and excellent performance in contaminated environments.

The rails are available in four sizes ranging from the miniature 18mm (18 x 16mm including slider) to the heavy duty 63mm (single slider capacity of over 1200kg).

Application examples include: assembly machinery, palletisers, packaging machinery, medical machinery, printing and engraving, cutting machines, protective enclosures and general automation.
