Supplier of vibration sensors and sensor networks gains ISO14001 certification to show it has mitigated its environmental risks.

Wilcoxon Research, a supplier of vibration sensors and sensor networks, has gained ISO14001 certification to show it has mitigated its environmental risks.

Certification was awarded after Wilcoxon passed an environment management audit.

The certification demonstrates Wilcoxon's commitment to the environment and dedication to reviewing the effect its operations have on the global community.

The audit included a review of existing practices and established several programmes covering hazardous materials handling and usage, electrical usage, solid waste and recycling.

Wilcoxon reviewed all applicable local, state and federal regulations to ensure it met or exceeded existing requirements.

The company's corporate environmental policy has enabled continual improvement programmes to be established, headed by Quality Assurance Director John Churchill.

"The ISO14001 certification is a symbol of our commitment to be responsible members of the global community," said Churchill.

"Adherence to these standards has been invaluable in helping us significantly minimise the environmental impact of manufacturing operations".

ISO14001 certification is designed to encourage ongoing improvements in environmental performance.

Certification is granted for three years and is annually audited by an independent body.
