Clamping system revolutionises fixturing

A Wixroyd International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 15, 2000

The new Zero Point System enables the simultaneous clamping and referencing of fixtures, vices, chucks etc. in seconds, with high holding forces and micron accuracy.

The machine table with its 'T' slots has little changed for 150 years - until now.

Heralding a quantum leap forward in fixturing and multi component clamping Wixroyd International launched their new Zero Point System during Manufacturing Week.

The new Zero Point System enables the simultaneous clamping and referencing of fixtures, vices, chucks etc.

in seconds, with high holding forces and micron accuracy.

No re-measuring of the zero point is necessary.

Time taken to set and reset fixtures/workpieces is reduced from some twenty minutes to as little as two minutes.

This means an 80% - 90% reduction in downtime, while machine spindle uptime is increased from 20% to a massive 80%.

Other features include 5-6 face machining, 100% machine path utilisation, minimal vibration and increased tooling life by up to 15%.

The Wixroyd Zero Point System is unique, easy to use and intrinsically safe.

Wixroyd offer Systems that cater for light to medium / medium to heavy and heavy engineering and to compliment the System a range of Wixroyd modular workholding is available.
