The Wixroyd range of highly efficient, inexpensive productivity systems have become firm favourites of large, medium and small companies like, Rolls Royce, Biomet and Perfectbore for increasing productivity.

Included in the range are Wixroyd's modular fixture systems, which offer high precision, flexible manufacturing with short machine times.

Wixroyd's modular fixture systems provide the ideal solution to customers fixturing needs without jeopardising the quality of the finished product in any way.

Anthony Iafrate, Sales Director of Wixroyd states: "The Wixroyd GPS 120 system is a major success for companies with a large number of parts and small batch sizes.

Customers who have invested in the system inevitably expand it further as they see the huge productivity, profitability and quality gains that are made".

Perfectbore is one of the UK's major manufacturers of specialist automotive components.

The management team identified 'downtime reduction' as the key to continued profitability, increased flexibility for customers' orders and further improvements in quality levels.

The parts will typically undergo a three-operation machining process, being transferred from a lathe, to a mill, grinder and a CMM for final checking.

Staff who had used Wixroyd systems previously, identified that a unified system of pallet changing of these relatively small parts, across the factory would have major benefits.

Dave Stretch, a Production Engineer at Perfectbore, says: "With a track record of supplying quality products for some 50 years Wixroyd is well known in the automotive industry.

Our components are relatively small (around 150mm diameter or less) and we realised that a unified system of pallet changing of these relatively small parts, across the factory would have major benefits.

With that in mind we decided to investigate the Wixroyd GPS 120 system".

Stretch continues: "At Perfectbore we now have a pallet holder on each machine.

Fixtures can be changed in seconds to an accuracy of better that two microns.

The parts are taken from machine to machine on the Wixroyd GPS 120 pallets (these cost around GBP 25 each) we are very happy".

In fact the system has proved so successful that Perfectbore UK has exported the idea back to its parent company in the USA.
