Wilde and Partners has been appointed exclusive distributor for ESAComp software for the UK and Ireland.

Wilde and Partners has been appointed exclusive distributor for ESAComp software for the UK and Ireland ESAComp, developed by Componeering of Helsinki in Finland, is software for the analysis and design of composite laminates and laminated structural elements

The development work for ESAComp was initiated by the European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC), to combine all composite analysis and design capabilities under one unified user interface.

From its origins in the aerospace industry, ESAComp has been developed as a general tool dealing with composites, both in industry and in research.

Helsinki University of Technology's Laboratory of Lightweight Structures undertook the original development of ESAComp.

In 2000, the development work was transferred to Componeering.

Wilde and Partners has supplied analytical software products and services to mechanical and civil engineering companies since 1980.

ESAComp will complement its existing portfolio of software, which includes a number of leading finite element codes including ANSYS, DesignSpace, NISA and DIANA.

W and P's independence from any particular software vendor is well suited to the distribution of ESAComp which is a stand-alone product with interfaces to a number of finite element codes including ANSYS, NISA, NASTRAN, ABAQUS and I-DEAS.

Wilde and Partners will provide support services for ESAComp used with each of these packages.

According to David Deakin, Director of Wilde and Partners' Finite Element Division: "With the addition of ESAComp to our portfolio of products we are able to offer a more complete service to composite users.

Our aim is to supply customers with flexible options to allow them to apply the best CAE products and services to their products and processes".
