Guideways with 30% more load capacity and rigidity
WMH Transmissions now offers Hiwin Linear Guides and Rails up to size 65, designed for load capacity and rigidity over 30% higher than other similar products
This has enabled it to enhance its position as a major force in the power transmission market, by reducing its delivery leadtimes and improving the level of service it is able to offer.
Manufacturing capacity has been increased to specifically develop trapezoidal leadscrew and nut production, and to augment the company's linear product range of guides and rails, gear racks and ballscrews and nuts.
New equipment includes a type T8MS five-axis 80mm twin-spindle Colchester Tornado machining centre, complete with barfeed, which will enable WMH to produce batches of extremely high quality leadscrew nuts, much more efficiently and with even better delivery leadtimes.
These nuts are ideally suited for use with the company's trapezoidal leadscrews.
WMH has also purchased a high speed abrasive saw and grinder, consisting of 350mm diameter high speed abrasive cutting disc up to 3500rev/min, precision measuring for accurate lengths, oscillating head ensuring no bluing of the material and capacity to cut up to 100mm hardened material.
This enables the company to precisely cut its stock of HIWIN linear guiderails, HIWIN ballscrews and high precision WMH gear racks to customer specified lengths.
In conjunction with this, WMH has a new grinding machine designed especially for finish grinding the ends of its linear guiderails and gear racks, enabling them to be used with butt joints for applications that require extended lengths.
