Invensys Flow Control has overcome the problem of high maintenance costs associated with many rotary control valves with the launch of the Worcester C-Flow eccentric plug control valve, featuring a unique two-piece plug design.

In many control valve applications - especially abrasive and erosive duties - the flow of media between the cone and valve seat results in a need for extensive repair.

By engineering a two-piece solution, says Invensys, affected parts can be simply and cost effectively replaced.

In addition, higher specification materials - including stellite, tungsten carbide and silicon nitride - may be used for the cone, to optimise the durability of the control valve on severe control services.

With rangeability of 200:1 the C-Flow represents a flexible and high performance element of an automated controls package with Norbro pneumatic or electric actuators which is complemented by a comprehensive range of electro-pneumatic, digital or intelligent valve positioners.

Available in sizes from 25mm (1in) to 300mm (12in) with ANSI 150/300 and 600 pressure ratings, the valve also features an innovative, robust plug bridge configuration which allows flow rates in excess of 2000 cubic metres per hour.

The one-piece body is available in carbon or stainless steel or exotics like Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel or Titanium.

Suitable for arduous control applications including abrasive slurries, corrosive duties, pulp services and saturated steam, the C-Flow, says Invensys, can be supplied with a range of options, including ceramic cones and seats, an outlet liner for highly abrasive media, a PTFE soft seat for tight shut off or additional bearing seals for chlorine and polymerisable or crystallisable media.
