The Flowserve range of Pac-seal products provide the economic answer to shaft sealing problems in a wide range of chemical, processing and general engineering applications.

Standard designs and sizes are available for imperial, metric and DIN 24960 housings.

These seals have been designed to service the European pump market and are interchangeable with most manufacturers equivalent seals without modification to seal housings or gland plates.

A principle advantage of these mechanical seals is the single spring which provides superior axial and angular flexibility.

It compensates for misalignment and machinery tolerances while providing free movement without clogging.

Robust static shaft seals also minimise shaft fretting and wear, while flexible moving elastomer shaft seals are self-adjusting to accommodate shaft end-float and take-up wear.

The Flowserve Pac-seal range is divided into three main product groups covering 'O' ring mounted seals, elastomer diaphragm seals and elastomer bellow seals.

The 'O' ring mounted seals are technically efficient, and incorporate a conical spring which grips the shaft at its smallest diameter to provide the seal drive.

Standard seals are supplied for clockwise rotating shafts with anti-clockwise rotating versions also available.

The elastomer diaphragm seals provide a strong static seal and positive drive under the combined action of the diaphragm and drive ring.

This also eliminates shaft fretting, wear and hang-up hysteresis while the flexibility of the elastomer ensures that misalignment, shaft run-out and movement can be accommodated.

The elastomer bellows design is suitable for use in confined spaces or with limited gland depths and combines high strength and flexibility with reliable performance.

The convoluted bellows profile is also ideal for media subject to clogging or in hygienic applications.

Special purpose seals are also available, together with OEM design specifications covering a number of manufacturers pumps.

A wide range of face material combinations and seal sizes can be supplied, covering standard shaft sizes from 10to 100mm diameter, and 0.375" to 4.000" imperial sizes.

Operating limits cover up to 200psi (1380 kPa) pressure, at temperatures up to 446F (230C) and maximum shaft speeds of 4900 fpm (25 m/s).
