Total life cycle seal projects at over 200 sites
Flowserve Strategic Alliance Partnerships are now operating at over 200 sites worldwide, where they are involved with total life cycle seal costs leading to lower plant operating costs
Flowserve manufacture high performance mechanical shaft seals for rotating equipment and have established proven leadership in Strategic Alliance Partnerships.
These are now operating at over 200 sites worldwide, where they are involved with total life cycle seal costs leading to lower plant operating costs.
Typical locations include major chemical and petrochemical plants, but strategic alliances are appropriate to any plant where production is dependent upon the performance of pumping equipment and other rotating shaft products including mixers, agitators, stirrers and compressors etc.
Flowserve Fluid Solutions Division are dedicated to assisting users in maintaining the performance of primary equipment while reducing long-term costs of mechanical seals and associated plant running costs.
Their aim is to increase MTBF times, while lowering inventory stocks resulting in more profitable operations for their alliance partners.
Initial surveys are undertaken of all rotating equipment and application variables.
This includes logging equipment numbers, process conditions and failure histories with all data maintained on Flowserve's Survey Information System.
A mechanical seal standardisation is mutually developed for the site, together with an inventory management programme based upon JIT seal availability.
Customised training and technical support is also provided for site personnel with a view to reduce equipment failures and costly downtime.
Strategic Alliance Partnerships are custom designed with joint co-operation and responsibilities between plant employees and Flowserve to improve site reliability and reduce total life cycle costs.
Performance indices are established to measure programmed success, with regular reviews to ensure goals are met.
Unlike traditional purchasing agreements, the programme provides a pro-active approach to minimise purchases and reducing costs in exchange for greater sealing product standardisation on site.
Three levels of source agreement are currently available, each offering unique advantages, opportunities and responsibilities, while still maintaining a flexible and adaptable programme.
Provision can be made for upgrading source agreements particularly if an increased number of site locations are covered.
