An embedded Internet/Ethernet controller from Wordsworth lets designers add an Ethernet interface to their products, either for use with local area networks or the Internet.

An embedded Internet/Ethernet controller from Wordsworth lets designers add an Ethernet interface to their products, either for use with local area networks or the Internet The i-7188EX series supports a variety of TCP/IP features, including TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP and RARP

It is powered by an AMD 80188-40 processor with 512Kbyte of SRAM and 512Kbyte of Flash memory.

Ethernet support is provided by a NE-2000 compatible controller with 16Kbyte of on-chip buffer memory and a 10baseT media interface.

The i-7188EX includes 14 user-defined I/O lines.

A cost effective I/O expansion board is available, which includes data convertors (A/D and D/A), relay drivers and protected inputs.

The i-7188EX also supports a battery backup SRAM board and Flash ROM board, providing between 128Kbyte and 64Mbyte of backup storage.

The 10baseT port is equipped with an RJ-45 connector and the interface supports a 100m maximum cable length between i-7188EX and the network hub.
