CO2 detection technology finds smallest leaks
Leak-Master is a micro-leak detection system for finding leaks in individual flexible and rigid food and pharmaceutical packaging using CO2 detection technology.
Leak detection system goes inline
Leak-Master Inline is a new automated inline micro leak detection system that can be retrofitted onto food and pharmaceutical packaging lines to find CO2 leaks in flexible and rigid packaging.
The increased memory capability can store the settings for up to 1200 products as well as names and passwords for 60 users.
It uses ceramic sensors for CO2 detection to find out if the protective atmosphere used in the packaging is escaping.
As well as being non-destructive, the use of helium, an expensive tracer gas, is not necessary.
No special skills are needed to operate it and, depending on the set test parameters, it is possible to determine micro leaks.
The durable stainless steel housing with a plexiglass lid is for use in high production environments.
The measurement chamber comes in sizes from 85 x 160 x 365mm to 225 x 775 x 665mm.
With the lid closed, it creates a vacuum and the test results are displayed on a monitor after the defined measurement time has elapsed.
The operator defines the relevant product parameters, including leak level, measurement time and vacuum level, using the touchscreen.
An optional barcode reader is available, using laser optics to read barcodes on packaging.
It then transmits the data to the Leak-Master.
This means there is no requirement manually to recall saved product data or test parameters.
The barcode reader can also identify users and log them on automatically.
Administration and analysis of data is through integration with pharmaceutical and food production quality management systems.
It can be interfaced to a PC or PDA via Ethernet or wireless LAN, eliminating manual data recording.
