Distribution deal signed for pneumatics products
Eriks UK has signed an extended distribution contract with SMC Pneumatics (UK), the world leader in pneumatic technology.
The innovative new MagRes shaft encoders represent a marked extension of the company's product range and are being launched throughout Europe.
According to Baumer UK Managing Director Dick Tysoe, the new encoders "are set to change the market for good, by providing 10 bit resolution positional feedback at a previously unattainable price".
"We approached Wyko to secure a UK distribution deal because of their strong market position and industrial bias, the company has a strong profile and proven technical expertise".

Custom seals provided in a hurry
Within nine days of being asked to quote for the project, PWI had submitted a detailed offer, including full engineering drawings.
Malcolm Sheryn, Wyko's Marketing Director commented, "As the market for higher performance factory automation equipment has grown in the UK, Wyko's automation product offering and systems service has expanded to play a significant part in our organisation.
Accordingly, we were pleased to find a quality product such as Baumer's that compliments our existing range of related servo motors and controllers and gives us an edge in the marketplace.
The decision was borne out during the D and C show, as we received a large number of enquiries for Baumer products both from existing Wyko customers and companies that are completely new to us".
The MagRes series of encoders is claimed to break through the existing price barrier associated with other traditional absolute encoder solutions, offering precise positional feedback for as low as a quarter of the established price.
The range includes two types, the BMSK which is supplied in a kit form ostensibly for OEM use in applications such as electric motors and the BMSH version, an enclosed unit type designed as a direct replacement for existing encoder applications.
Both units are absolute encoders that use a Hall-effect magnetic scanning technique to give up to 1024step/rev sensing resolution.
They are available with SSI or parallel interface options providing the user with convenient design flexibility.
Parallel units offer 9bit resolution and SSI models offer improved 10bit resolution.
The sense of direction and zero-point orientation is programmable in both versions adding greatly to ease of setup. Request free introductory details about products from Eriks UK ...
