Wyko Industrial Services now provides a complete component supply, upgrade and refurbishment service for customers with large-scale storage and logistics systems.
Wyko Industrial Services now provides a complete component supply, upgrade and refurbishment service for customers with large-scale storage and logistics systems.
As part of the service, trained engineers are available 24h a day to provide impartial advice, technical reports and conduct repairs from over 35 workshop facilities nationwide.
The complete service covers all facilities and equipment, whether customers use high bay, low level or multi-level mezzanine storage facilities with automated, manual or conveyor pick and place systems.
Wyko has long been known in industry for supplying one of the widest ranges of transmission components available in the UK and a number of on-site maintenance services.
With recent developments in product lines and new production facilities, Wyko has now turned its focus on the logistics and materials handling industries, creating a unique 'one stop shop' for spare parts supply and a complete refurbishing service for all makes of equipment.
The opportunities have arisen through two changes in the maintenance and after sales support market for logistics equipment.
First, more warehouses are free issuing larger, more expensive 'invoiced' items to their often on-site contracted repairer.
This trend has given Wyko a stronger market position with its ability to provide a complete service backed by extensive stocks held at over 140 branches nationwide and teams of experienced engineers operating from 35 workshops.
Secondly, Wyko can often supply components that are of a higher quality than those used by many manufacturers of logistics equipment.
Wyko supply high quality, longer lasting components such as drive and guidewheels.
Which can be made in any shape or size using tough Vulkollan polyurethane.
Conveyor rollers can also be manufactured or recoated up to 6m in length and 1.5m in diameter.
These are complimented by a large range of drum motors to suit all types of conveyor systems.
A network of workshops across the UK allows Wyko to immediately repair or upgrade AC and DC motors for all logistics related equipment such as forklift trucks, crane stackers and automated goods vehicles (AGVs).
AGVs can also be upgraded for reliable use in frozen food warehouses with specialist electric motors, PCB's and various heated switches.
Motor upgrades are available to meet VPI specifications, making them jet washable for clean environments.
Wyko's comprehensive stock of specialist chains and items such as sprockets, castors and wheels, ensures that any component or service provided delivers the longest meantime between failures.
This is especially important in applications such as refurbishing complex stacker crane platens, a process that involves many transmission components such as chains, sprockets, cam followers and guide pulleys.
Wyko's capacity for meeting any customer's transmission system requirements is bolstered by a facility for manufacturing bespoke oversize bearings as well as one off designs.
In addition, a full stock of standard wheel and mast bearings is available off-the-shelf for AGVs, reach trucks, stackers and pickers.
Wyko also supplies a complete range of bearings for forklift trucks that covers carriage return bearings, wheel and mast bearings.
As part of the service aspect, Wyko offers advice on standardisation and, to facilitate ordering, undertakes full site surveys to catalogue parts that regularly need replacing.
Other on-site services available include analysis of operating methods, advice on the latest products available, energy saving surveys, inventory management and recommendations on how to create more cost efficient systems and good working practices.
To complete the service, Wyko also has a fluid power division dedicated to the supply and refurbishment of hydraulic components and systems, and an electronics repair service that can replace or repair all industrial electronics from machine controllers and drives, to high-end servo systems.
