High precision from bearings and guidance systems

An Eriks UK product story

The complete range of INA precision linear bearings and guidance systems is now readily available nationwide from Wyko's 140+ network of branches.

Wyko Industrial Services is extending its capability to promote effective motion solutions to engineers in both traditional automation and high-technology industries by introducing the complete range of INA precision linear bearings and guidance systems.

Now readily available nationwide from Wyko's 140+ network of branches, the INA range includes shaft, track and miniature guidance systems as well as a broad selection of high-performance linear actuators, roller bearings and planetary roller screws.

Wyko's commitment to supply the full INA range of linear guides has improved the company's product offering to design and maintenance engineers across all industry sectors, from the initial handling of a product right through to its final assembly and packaging.

For example, INA shaft guidance systems are now available for use in all types of materials handling systems, especially those where heavy loads are carried precisely over comparatively long distances in tough operating environments.

Innovative features of the range include lubricant reservoirs used to feed a series of recirculating balls, which run in self-aligning segments.

The self-aligning design allows the shaft guidance systems to resist deflection to a degree not previously possible and to compensate for misalignment of up to +/-40arc-min.

For high precision positioning operations as part of an automated production line or machining assembly, Wyko has introduced INA's ball and roller guidance systems.

The units are ideal for applications where long displacement distances are required due to their high precision guideways that are manufactured from through-hardened tool steel.

Their tight operational clearances and use of recirculating balls and rollers also allows for a smoother operation by reducing friction and the negative affects of side forces.

As a result, the range offers maintenance-free running for over 40,000km as standard and long-term four-row lubrication reservoirs are available for the most reliable performance in the toughest positioning applications.

Of particular interest to engineers involved in robotic and automated assembly systems, are the INA tandem linear guides.

These units feature an internal track roller guidance system, which utilises a series of toothed belts to allow very large masses to be moved in vertical applications and at high acceleration speeds.

Other products in the range include telescopic linear guides and modular aluminium track roller guidance systems for complex multi-axis and gantry positioning arrangements.

To ensure accurate positioning of the guidance systems in all stages of the production cycle, Wyko is stocking a wide range of ready-to-fit INA planetary roller screws.

A combination of the planetary roller bearing design and an extremely small thread lead results in high levels of repeat accuracy and low running noise.

Added benefits of planetary roller screws include high travel speed, high axial load carrying capacity and rigidity, making them ideal for use in guidance system applications from mining to aerospace.

In addition to the INA range of positioning systems, Wyko also supplies a complete catalogue of shafts, screws, guide rails, and customised guideways as well as a broad range of sealing products, lubrication systems and motion limiting devices.

All products and accessories are available from over 140 Wyko branches nationwide, where experienced engineers are on hand to offer advice and ensure that the answer to a customer's problem is always the best possible solution.
