Distribution deal covers full WEG range

An Eriks UK product story

Wyko has concluded a national UK distribution agreement with WEG for the full range of WEG products, including AC motors, AC drives, starters and switchgear.

Wyko has concluded a national UK distribution agreement with WEG for the full range of WEG products, including AC motors, AC drives, starters and switchgear.

The agreement, which also appoints Wyko as WEG's authorised repairer in the UK, means that Wyko is able to provide the most comprehensive package combining supply and service for WEG products in the UK.

"The breadth of this new agreement enables us to provide the widest range of motor and control options to our customers", commented Alan Whetstone, Commercial Director for Wyko Industrial Services.

"It enables us to offer what others can't: a synergy of supply and service on a nationwide basis".

"The considerable motor stock we are holding on the shelf means fast delivery of most standard LV machines, while our extensive technical backup and service facilities provide full support for WEG equipment in the field, and the security of over 25 dedicated electromechanical workshops around the UK".

"This is a far-reaching agreement that offers a wide range of benefits", said Marek Lukaszczyk, National Sales and Marketing Manager for WEG.

"It enables both companies to provide improved levels of customer supply, support and service and, at the same time, maximise their business potential".

"WEG's business in the UK is experiencing extraordinary growth and our user base is growing all the time".

"Our new partnership with Wyko means that we are able to support this growth, both through the substantial stock of WEG products that Wyko is holding, and through the engineering skills that Wyko brings to support our products and look after them throughout their operating lives".

Under the new agreement Wyko is holding well over GBP 100,000 of stock of WEG LV motors at its central stock facilities in the West Midlands.

The stock covers a wide range of motor sizes, including some of largest available in the UK.

As a result, Wyko will be able to satisfy the majority of standard delivery requests in 24 to 48 hours, or even the same day in emergency situations.

For larger sizes and some nonstock items, Wyko will draw on the GBP 2 million motor stock that WEG holds locally in Redditch, a facility less than 10 miles from Wyko's store.

The ranges of WEG motors offered by Wyko includes high efficiency, premium efficiency, explosion-proof and brake motors.

These are complemented by motor starters and LV switchgear.

Increasingly, motors and drives are sold as packages, and these will benefit from 3-year warranties.

What this means for customers is greater security of purchase and a single source responsibility for the equipment supplied, which, with Wyko's extensive UK network, is usually locally situated.

"Wyko is strong on supplying extended warranty products", said Alan Whetstone, "so the agreement with WEG fits in very much with our philosophy".

"We are also strong when things go wrong, providing a unique, balanced repair or replace ethos that brings objectivity to the economics of a decision to repair or replace equipment".

"We can also help our customers with the timing of these decisions, by providing up to date information on the health of drive equipment using our condition monitoring services".
