Classic SMSRs given new lease of life

All Fenner Classic shaft mounted speed reducers are eligible for a new lease of life thanks to the service exchange programme from Wyko.

All Fenner Classic shaft mounted speed reducers (SMSRs) are eligible for a new lease of life thanks to the service exchange programme from Wyko Classic shaft mounted gearboxes that are reaching the end of their service life can be exchanged for a replacement unit of the same model and dimensions, but fully refurbished with new internal components

New shafts and gears are manufactured in the same factory as the originals, but mounted on the latest technology bearings and protected by new generation seals.

The Fenner Classic SMSR has for years been the workhorse of many industry sectors driving conveyors, agitators and other machines in arduous applications.

Wyko will exchange those original SMSRs and guarantee the replacement unit for two years when purchased on its own, or three years if purchased with an inverter drive or softstart.

Rebuilt to the same standards as the original using new genuine Fenner internal components, the exchange units also benefit from the latest bearings and seal arrangements ensuring the replacement.

Gear contact patterns, end floats and backlash figures are identical to the original.

Wyko will also accept other makes of shaft mounted gearbox into the exchange programme, replacing the original make with the equivalent torque rated Fenner Classic SMSR.

The Fenner Classic SMSR service exchange units are available in all sizes and ratios direct from stock.

All replacement units receive new ID plates and are supplied as new.

All new Fenner gearboxes including the Classic service exchange units are available with the improved Fenner Taper-Grip T mounting system that allows each gearbox to be fitted by sliding it along the shaft to the required position and then tightening its collar bolts to assert a clamping force to keep the unit firmly in place.

Removal requires the bolts to be loosened and the collar tapped in towards the gearbox; the unit is then free to be removed, avoiding any seizure due to fretting corrosion, the most common problem faced when removing any shaft mounted device after a long period of service.

Wyko can also provide spare parts, special designs and sealing kits for aggressive atmospheres. Request a free brochure from Eriks UK ...
