These small, very reliable data transmission devices will allow users to transfer data, point to point or point to multipoint with a through the air speed of 19.2Kbit/s.

This therefore opens up a whole range of opportunities where previously cabling was impossible or impractical.

Whether retrieving data across water or road or from a moving vehicle or rotating object, Satel radio modems are simple to install and can be operated within the UK on licence exempt frequencies.

Distances of transmission vary depending on environment, but 2-3km within an urban environment and up to 25km over water are very achievable.

Unlike GSM/GPRS solutions, these units are a one-off fixed cost, with no call charges or line rentals to pay.
