Xycom Automation's new 1510 Industrial PC is a "node" box (without integrated display) with up to 700 MHz Pentium III performance for demanding factory automation applications

Xycom Automation's new 1510 Industrial PC answers a common need to separate the display from the PC.

The 1510 is a "node" box (without integrated display) with up to 700 MHz Pentium III performance for demanding factory automation applications.

Coupled with the Xycom 3015 LCD flat panel monitor, the 1510 gives the user an array of options to choose from.

The 1510 offers a 10-slot passive backplane with 8 available expansion slots including 4 full-length ISA, 3 full-length PCI, and 1 half-length PCI.

The unit also includes a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet controller for easy integration into the factory-wide network and an AGP video controller with 4 MB video RAM.

Other features include PCI IDE controller, 2 serial ports, parallel port, and a PS/2 port that can be used with a mouse and keyboard via the supplied "Y" cable.

It also has a 235 watt power supply, 1.44 MB floppy, and a CD-ROM drive.

Ian Law, Xycom Automation's Sales Director, explains "There is a large group of factory Automation customers that require a "blind" PC solution with ISA and PCI expansion, or have good reason to physically separate the display from the rest of the PC.

Many of these customers have accepted the limitations of using commercial grade PCs with an industrial LCD monitor.

Because these same customers usually require ISA expansion and the commercial market has abandoned ISA expansion capability, these customers are left with even less desirable solutions.

We have listened to our customers' requirements, and now Xycom will fill this void with our 1510 box PC.

A box PC solution like the 1510 helps us round out our industrial PC offerings, while still supplying the quality product that Xycom Automation is known for." The 1510 resembles a commercial tower unit in layout and dimensions, but is designed and built for factory automation.

With its metal case and included mounting brackets the unit can be secured in a horizontal or vertical orientation.

The 1510 includes UL, cUL, FCC, and CE certifications.

Unlike other Industrial PC solutions, all Xycom units are certified and listed as a complete unit.
