1.5 axis controller for Yaskawa servo drives
Yaskawa's new MP940 "Plug In" 1.5 axis motion controller is designed for use with the full range of Yaskawa's high performance Sigma II servo drives and motors
It is also a great upgrade tool, replacing contactors for maintenance-free operation and allowing single-phase motors to be replaced with more reliable three-phase versions.
The multi-speed step function (9 pre-set speeds) makes it ideal for food processing and conveyor applications and its smooth speed variation can bring energy savings in fan and pump operation.
Moreover, the drive is frequency independent, so it can be used in both 50Hz and 60Hz regions without mechanical modification to the driven machine - this is particularly useful for suppliers to home and overseas markets.
DIN rail mounting attachments together with screw-type circuit terminals arranged in upper and lower rows to represent a standard contactor array make mounting and wiring the VS mini J7 inverter safe and easy - just apply the power, set the speed from the panel-mounted potentiometer and the drive is ready to go.
Other innovative design features include a removable cooling fan, mounted and detached with one touch.
For its size, the VS mini J7 inverter delivers outstanding starting torque of 150% at just 3Hz, giving smooth start up.
A high-speed current limiting function minimises over-current trips, and inrush current suppression plus grounding/earth protection are built in for safe, trip free operation.
There is also a connection for an AC or DC reactor.
The 3 digit, 7 segment, bright red LED display gives a clear indication of the inverter status, amps volts, frequency, etc.
Multi-function I/O terminals, 0-10V, 4-20mA or 0-20mA inputs, as well as analogue monitors are available.
Inputs can be set to PNP or NPN.
These input options, plus slip compensation, over-torque detection and high-speed search make this highly specified inverter a particularly versatile drive.
Worldwide service cover is available through the Yaskawa aftersales network.
