1.5 axis controller for Yaskawa servo drives
Yaskawa's new MP940 "Plug In" 1.5 axis motion controller is designed for use with the full range of Yaskawa's high performance Sigma II servo drives and motors
The series is suitable for stand-alone or multi axis applications and consists of a VS-626M5 inverter and a VS-656MR5 regenerative converter.
For multi axis applications a range of sigma series servo drives are available, giving a compact solution for up to seven axis of motion.
The package offers enhanced spindle performance over the complete speed range due to the high-speed calculations performed by the Digital Signal Processor (DSP).
Machine tool applications demand extremely precise speed control, and the drive uses high frequency pulse wave modulation to offer highly accurate current control.
Typical speed and current loop closure times are up to ten times faster than conventional inverter drives.
The series is offered in both 200V and 400V ratings.
The standard series offers 3.7/2.2kW to 30/22kW on the 200V rating, and 5.5/3.7kW to 45/37kW on the 400V rating.
The winding selection on both ratings is 5.5/3.7kW to 30/22kW.
Other features incorporated as standard include 64 digital pre-set speeds, analogue or digital reference, single or dual winding motor configuration and a servo mode, this being ideal for rigid tapping.
One additional feature is a spindle orientation magnetic sensor or auxiliary encoder with an orientation option for either.
