Yokogawa Marex reports major progress in the worldwide release of the latest Batch version of its Exaquantum PIMS electronic plant optimisation technology.

Yokogawa Marex has made a number of sales of its Exaquantum /Batch Plant Information Management System (PIMS).

Beta testing of the software has been completed, and the customer implementations of this highly advanced product are progressing well.

Several of the implementations are in the pharmaceutical environment, and the 21 CFR Part 11 certification process is making swift progress in this situation.

The assessors have been impressed with the automatic verification of the data, the tight integration with the DCS and the transparency of the software.

Designed to provide high-value batch process and business information for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, Exaquantum/Batch is an important part of the company's global electronic real-time manufacturing programme to provide extended functionality and reduce process engineering costs.

Exaquantum/Batch offers full conformity with open standards batch technology (Fieldbus/OPC).

The first phase of implementations is on schedule to be completed in the first quarter of 2005, when comprehensive details of the application and the business benefits will be available.

Nigel Bowden, Yokogawa Marex Managing Director adds: "Open standards Exaquantum PIMS provide key benefits which are at the heart of our customers' installations".

"We apply an uncompromising drive to innovate and improve, helping our clients optimise their plants and increase their functionality at less cost".

"Exaquantum/Batch is an extremely competitive product which will lead our growing MES portfolio into 2005".
