Batch software passes beta testing
Yokogawa Marex reports major progress in the worldwide release of the latest Batch version of its Exaquantum PIMS electronic plant optimisation technology.
This milestone Exaquantum installation is being delivered to India's largest public oil refinery and is part of a major upgrade at the plant.
The project is being engineered by the solutions team at Yokogawa India and includes the provision of a Yokogawa Centum CS 3000 distributed control system (DCS) and programmable emergency shutdown (ESD) facility for controlling the naphtha hydro treater, continuous catalytic reformer, extractive Merox, reformate and gasoline splitter functions.
The upgrade will be completed by February 2006.
The Exaquantum PIMS family of process products provides the core MES/MIS systems for Yokogawa and includes Exaquantum/Batch, Exaquantum/SER (sequence of events recorder) and Exaspot (oil and gas process optimiser).
Nigel Bowden, MD of GMSC says: "This Indian installation was achieved through the hard work of our two Yokogawa India sales managers, Sunil Abraham in Solutions and Belavadi Shankar in Systems, and through our highly-valued track record with the customer".
"Exaquantum is going from strength to strength as shown by the significant number of orders being received and we expect to receive our 600th order early next year".
"With many old plants now being retro-fitted with new control systems to provide greater efficiency and return on investment, it is not surprising that so many top international companies have chosen Exaquantum PIMS as their platform of choice".
