Phil Harrison has been appointed Managing Director of Yokogawa Martron, the UK electronic test and measurement instruments subsidiary of the Yokogawa Electric Corporation of Japan.
Phil Harrison has been appointed Managing Director of Yokogawa Martron, the UK electronic test and measurement instruments subsidiary of the Yokogawa Electric Corporation of Japan.
Harrison has been involved with the test and measurement industry for over 30 years, and has held senior sales and management positions with Hewlett-Packard, Datron and Marconi Instruments.
He was responsible for establishing Datron's operation in the USA prior to the company's acquisition by Wavetek.
Harrison joins Yokogawa Martron at a time when the company is moving into a number of new areas.
Long established as a supplier of recorders, oscilloscopes, power meters and data-acquisition systems, the company has recently launched several ranges of ground-breaking instruments targeted at the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors including 3G mobile, CDMA and DVB applications.
He is also keen to promote the calibration laboratory and repair facilities at the company's headquarters at High Wycombe, Bucks, which will become the European hub for all Yokogawa's instrument operations as well as being marketed as a service to the industry at large.
Harrison succeeds Martin Ball, who founded the company as Martron Instruments 30 years ago and sold it to Yokogawa in 1998.
Ball is retiring to pursue other interests including boating and travel.
