Yokogawa Electric Asia in Singapore has a production capacity of 3000 DPharp EJA differential pressure/pressure transmitters a year.
Yokogawa Electric Asia, a centralised production centre in Singapore, will begin production in July of Yokogawa's main field sensor product, the DPharp EJA series differential pressure/pressure transmitter.
In Southeast Asia, many new petroleum and petrochemical plants are being built or expanded, and so the control device market is rapidly expanding.
Teruyoshi Minaki, the Managing Director of Yokogawa Electric International and the head of Yokogawa's international operations, said: "To further satisfy our customers, it is essential to improve the level of service such as quick delivery, and the supply of customised products that meet their special requests".
"We will therefore manufacture the EJA series in Singapore, which is located close to our customers in the region".
"This will ensure that we can deliver quickly and meet the demand for customised products from our customers".
"Our initial production capacity is 3000 units a year, and we will expand its scale as the market grows".
Differential pressure/pressure transmitters are the main field sensors that measure pressure in order to determine the flow rate and level of liquids in tanks.
They are used by the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, steel, and other industries in processes that involve the handling of liquids, vapours, and gases.
The global market is worth 200 billion yen, with 2 million units, making this the largest market for field sensors.
In this market segment, Yokogawa has the biggest share in Asia.
The EJA series was released in 1994 and is valued for its high accuracy, stability, and reliability, which is achieved with a silicon resonant sensor that uses MEMS technology.
