As a UK-authorised distributor of Kitz industrial quarter-turn valves, Young and Cunningham will be able to offer the full range of ball and butterfly valves available in both carbon and stainless steel.
This is in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directory (97/23/EC) with appropriate CE markings to reflect the conformity assessment up to product category 1V for modules B + D.
It will also complement the range of El-O-Matic Actuators which Young and Cunningham market thus providing a competitive actuated valve package.
With the introduction of the Valve Automation Centre in Young and Cunningham's Glasgow office, this will enable the company to deliver valve automation services to the new target sectors.
The wider services available to Kitz Corporation include testing facilities, 'in-house' automation and the ability to provide a full service package from initial order through to installation.
The Kitz valve will compliment the EL-O-Matic range of pneumatic and electric actuators.
As a result of this new contract win, Young and Cunningham has appointed two new managers focusing on driving sales.
Stewart Henderson joins the company as Field Sales Manager for the North of England from Pipeline Center.
He has over 15 years experience within the valve industry and has responsibility for driving sales of all of Young and Cunningham's products including the Kitz's products.
Henderson comments on his appointment: "I am pleased to have joined a company like Young and Cunningham.
I am looking forward to becoming involved in promoting many of Young and Cunningham's products to a variety of market sectors and growing the company's market share within them".
Andrew Clegg has been appointed as Business Development Manager responsible for distributing Kitz products across the UK.
Clegg joins the company from EL-O-Matic, part of the Emerson Group, and will be based in the Glasgow office.
