Industrial batteries showcased in Birmingham

A Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 14, 2007

Batteries on display at IFSEC are representative of Yuasa's wide range and choice of products for all industrial applications.

Yuasa Battery is presenting its widest ever range of industrial batteries for security and fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, CCTV, UPS and OEM electrical equipment applications at IFSEC 2007 (May 21st to 24th 2007, NEC Birmingham).

Batteries on display at IFSEC are representative of Yuasa's wide range and choice of products for all industrial applications.

The long-established Yuasa NP series offers an extremely wide choice of types for security, emergency lighting, fire and CCTV applications.

The NP five-year product life (0.8 to 65Ah) is ideally suited for system back up in any application where security of power supply is vital.

In standard float applications, the expected life of an NP battery will exceed five years.

For longer life, NPL models (24, 38, 64, 78, 100, 130 and 200Ah) give a 10-year float life and feature threaded insert terminals for ease of installation in multiple battery systems.

Yuasa SWL VRLA batteries are specifically aimed at the UPS user where the emphasis is the need for a battery that offers high-rate, short-duration discharge.

To meet this need, the SWL series offers an improved energy to density ratio that provides an extra 40% power compared with similar footprint monoblocs and offers a choice of eight models from 24 to 90Ah.

EN (Endurance) series stationary batteries (100 to 480Ah monoblocs) are intended for high-integrity stationary back up systems where multiple battery, multiple string installations are purpose designed for each individual system.

Product life in standard float applications can be expected to exceed 10 years.

The batteries come as standard in highgrade UL94V0 Oxygen Index 30 flame retardant material and fully meet BS6290 part four (1997).

The Yuasa series of Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries for lighting applications meet EN 60285 standards as specified for emergency lighting installations where high temperatures might be encountered.

Within the high-temperature range there is a wide permutation of options encompassing terminals, pack arrangements, end caps, fitting plates and heads.

Power capacity across the standard and high-temperature series covers 1300 to 4000mAh.

For electronic and instrumentation applications and to complement the extensive range of VRLA stationary batteries, Yuasa also offers a completely new range of Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and NiCd cells.

Employing the latest technology, Yuasa NiMH cells provide what are believed to be the highest capacities available plus a very long service life.

There are 33 different can sizes available covering capacities from 80 to 13,000mAh and, depending on application, up to 100 charge/discharge cycles can be expected.

In the NiCd series there is a choice of 24 cell types covering 180 to 8000mAh.

Some cell sizes are also available in high-temperature versions.

In addition to manufacturing and supplying batteries direct through a nationwide network of stockists Yuasa also offers a total battery system design and installation service for stationary battery systems, battery chargers, testers and CCTV power supplies.

Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) is exhibiting on stand number 18228.
