Condensate drain saves on running costs
Zander (UK) Ltd has introduced a level sensing condensate drain that saves substantially on running costs by preventing compressed air escaping from the system.
Zander (UK) Ltd, specialists in the treatment of compressed air and gas, have introduced a level sensing condensate drain that saves substantially on running costs by preventing compressed air escaping from the system Unlike conventional timed solenoid drains that function whether or not there is condensate in the system and allow large amounts of compressed air to escape each time they operate, the electronic Ecodrain LS senses the level of condensate in a system and allows only unwanted condensate to drain

Oil-water separator offers excellent efficiency
The Ecosep SL oil-water separator is so efficient it allows 99.9% of condensate to be discharged into the foul sewers
Filter elements provide greater surface area
Using a Zander element on a 160kW compressed air installation could achieve annual savings of around £1500.
Tests show that the energy saved by replacing even a single timed solenoid drain with the Ecodrain LS could amount to 12,500m³ of compressed air per year! The intelligent Ecodrain LS also compensates for fluctuations in condensate levels due to temperature, pressure, system load, etc., to ensure efficient, automatic drainage of condensates from 100% oil to 100% water.
Versions of the Ecodrain LS are available as direct replacements for timed solenoid drains for a wide range of compressors including systems with compressor intercoolers and aftercoolers, compressed air receivers and large water separators.
Other features of the Ecodrain LS include internal and external corrosion protection capable of handling aggressive oilfree condensate; IP65 protection; an LED alarm activated by system overloads or drainage line blockages; and a manually activated safety valve to allow drainage in the event of a power failure.
To ensure processing in accordance with statutory regulations, condensate should be drained into a Zander Ecosep oil-water separator or a Zander Aquafil-K oil emulsion separator if it is a stable emulsion.
