A new alignment system for the Sieger Searchline Excel open-path gas detection system from Zellweger Analytics reduces sensor set up time and guarantees optimum sensor performance As a result, installation of wide-area gas detection systems for plant protection is significantly quicker, cheaper and more accurate

Field experience in open-path gas detection has shown that accurate alignment of transmitter and receiver is vital to achieve optimum performance, especially in harsh conditions.

Competitive systems require an initial telescopic alignment followed by adjustment using specialist software.

This process is not only time consuming, but in many instances does not achieve optimum alignment and may even lead to unsatisfactory performance.

The new "True" system for Excel facilitates perfect alignment by one person in just a few minutes with no need for time-consuming adjustment using additional software.

Excel is now supplied with pre-aligned sample and reference sensors, and with a built in three point monitoring datum that ensures the telescope-mounting bracket engages perfectly parallel to the unit.

All the technician has to do to achieve sensor alignment is to line up the telescopic site using an Allen key.

Excel offers highly effective protection of open spaces against flammable gases, in conditions such as extreme climates (hot and cold) and even in the thick fog, which routinely creates problems for competing systems.

The range of rugged sensors available for Excel is designed for very low maintenance, with long sensor replacement intervals.

Excel systems aligned using True have been shown to be at least five times less sensitive to partial obscuration than competitive units.

They are consistent in signal strength over their entire +/-5-degree field of view.

All new Excel systems are now shipped complete with True built in.
