Online program eases coupling choices

A Zero-Max product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 18, 2008

To select the right CD coupling, the system designer simply enters the coupling size or max torque capacity and the two bore sizes.

3D Partstream allows users to select and configure the exact CD coupling solution required for their coupling application.

The configurable 3D CAD program can be downloaded from the Zero-Max website.

Zero-Max' latest generation CD couplings are easier and faster to evaluate and specify than ever before.

To select the right CD coupling, the system designer simply enters the coupling size or max torque capacity and the two bore sizes.

3D Partstream will then render the exact configured coupling for interactive viewing.

That exact configuration can be downloaded in a multitude of CAD formats to be quickly and easily imported to the drawing.

At this point, a quote request is as simple as a click of the mouse.

Zero Max will provide an exact drawing of what is needed, right down to the bore size.

The new CD couplings feature the zero-backlash precision and high torsional stiffness required in demanding servomotor applications with high reverse loads and positioning requirements.

Manufactured of RoHS-compliant materials, these CD couplings are designed with new clamp style hubs for increased torque capacity on shafts without using keyways.

"Early response from design engineers to both to our new generation CD couplings and configurable downloads has been extremely strong", according to Robert Mainz, Zero-Max Sales Manager.

"CD couplings are the answer to today's demanding servomotor applications and our Partstream downloads makes the specification process fast and easy".

"We're very excited to be able to provide the manufacturing industry with this edge technology".
