ZF Industrial is offering an opportunity for qualified companies in the UK to distribute its new WT and PG ranges of low-backlash high-performance planetary gearheads for servo drive applications.

ZF's new WT range of right-angle gearheads offer machine designers a compact and lightweight solution for gaining extra torque from servomotors without sacrificing space.

Operating in drive systems that turn through 90 degrees, the units offer a maximum torque transmission from the gearhead of up to 1440Nm, levels of backlash as low as 2.0arc-min and operational efficiency levels of 96%.

The new PG series inline planetary gearheads are designed to optimise levels of torque from even the smallest sizes of servomotors, making the units ideal for highly dynamic tasks in packaging, printing, labelling and x-y positioning.

The range is available with capacities ranging from 25 to 3000Nm and ratios 4:1 up to 100:1.

In common with the WT range, the new PG gearheads offer all the traditional advantages of a planetary gearbox design: low weight, compact design and low noise, plus a combination of high efficiency and a low moment of inertia.

The single-piece housing design of the units offers a high degree of torsional rigidity, resulting in exceptional levels of positional accuracy and reliability.

Both units provide a simple and cost effective means of optimising torque performance of AC and DC servomotors and are dimensionally interchangeable with competitive units on the market.

The ideal distributors for the PG range are companies that are already actively selling servo systems into key market sectors - such as printing, packaging, robotics, winding and machine tools.
