ZF Industrial has greatly expanded its existing range of industrial clutch and brake products as a result of a new partnership with precision Austrian manufacturer Heid.
ZF Industrial has greatly expanded its existing range of industrial clutch and brake products as a result of a new partnership with precision Austrian manufacturer Heid.
The partnership enables ZF to supply one of the most comprehensive ranges of industrial clutches and brakes available from a single source.
It provides plant and maintenance engineers with a readily available retrofit capability for machine tools, printing and papermaking machines, packaging machines, welding equipment and many, many more.
ZF's agreement with Heid covers a range of clutch and brake products no longer manufactured in house by ZF.
These are at the top end of the torque range and are directly interchangeable with units supplied by ZF in the past, and also with competitive units currently available on the market.
"The new partnership with Heid marks a real renaissance in our activities in the European market for industrial clutches and brakes", said Rob Pearson, Product Manager for ZF Industrial.
"It gives us the ability to provide the widest range of new products and also means that we can service retrofit business on such items of equipment as machine tools, which used ZF product as original fitment".
The inclusion of Heid product means that ZF Industrial's range now includes electrically operated single and multiple disc clutches and brakes; electrically operated single face clutches and brakes; safety clutches (for NC feed drives); tooth clutches; safety brakes; hydraulically and pneumatically operated clutches and brakes; and pressure/spring-actuated clutches and brakes.
All of these units are technically advanced in design, compact, and robust in construction, the latter ensuring reliability in operation.
They also offer the advantages of working from low voltage (24V) supplies - many with the suitability for wet or dry operation - and minimum maintenance requirements.
In addition to its expanded general industrial range, ZF Industrial also provides its unique hysteresis brake and clutch products for use in precision applications.
The exact levels of control, and the unique combination of contact free and, therefore, wear free torque transmission, provided by these units, is ideally suited to all manufacturing processes where control of tension is required, as in the production of endless products such as wire, cable, paper and foil.
