Transmissions handle 10m3 of concrete

A ZF Great Britain product story

Importantly, the elastomer bearing arrangement means that the installation angle for the Ecomix II transmission is no longer dependent on drum size and drum filling.

ZF has released the Ecomix II Concrete Mixer Lowspeed (CML 10) transmission for concrete mixers with up to 10m3 drum capacity and output torques up to 62,000Nm.

The CML 10 is approximately 20% lighter and 50% shorter than previous mode and is more flexible, quieter in operation and easier to service.

In addition to the benefits of reduced weight and size, the Ecomix II has a special design that offers several other major advantages.

The transmission uses a tough bearing arrangement that significantly increases output bearing strength, resulting in less sensitivity to shocks during off-road operation.

The use of elastomer units from ZF Boge Elastmetall also allows an increase in axial run out at the drum base and an increase in misalignment of the drum.

The elastomer bearing arrangement means that the installation angle for the Ecomix II transmission is no longer dependent on drum size and drum filling.

An installation angle of up to 20 degrees is always possible.

In addition, acoustic and mechanical decoupling of the drum and vehicle frame results in considerable noise reduction and improved driving comfort.

Instead of a sealing collar, a cassette seal is used on the Ecomix II, extending its operating life.
