Transmissions ensure shovel loader reliability

A ZF Great Britain product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 18, 2008

XCMG machines have been tested in the UK for over 36 months, working in demolition sites, quarries and recycling plants.

ZF transmissions are used in the XCMG range of shovel loaders shown by William Wheatley and Cannon XCMG at the recent SED exhibition.

The ZF transmissions are part of a package of western components designed to ensure reliability and long operating life for the Chinese-manufactured shovel loaders.

William Wheatley and Cannon XCMG are selling the wheel loaders in capacities from six to 29 tons.

Tthey are fitted with original Cummins engines, ZF transmissions and Meritor (American) axles.

James Wheatley, MD of William Wheatley said "XCMG is able to offer a reliable product, fitted with major western components, at an affordable price and with ex-stock delivery".

"The XCMG machines have been tested in the UK for over 36 months, working in demolition sites, quarries and recycling plants".

"Over this period they have proved to be very reliable, offering high levels of performance".

"What Cannon XCMG and William Wheatley are offering the UK market is the ability to buy new where previously second hand would have been the only option" Wheatley said.

"Our XCMG shovel loaders cost, on average, around 30% less than market-leading brands and they are covered by a full 12-month warranty".

"This means that they are a much better investment than a machine from one of the more established brands that might be young in years, but over the top in terms of mileage and usage".

"We can also provide a solution as regards 'new' sales, where operators have been quoted long lead times on competitors' machines".
