Insulating foam passes test of
flammability
Zotefoams has developed a new lightweight, closed cell foam material that is considered ideal for many sealing and insulating applications in the electrical and electronics industries.

Closed-cell polyolefin foams are re-useable
Available in a rich variety of colours for easy identification, Azote foams are durable and resilient, providing outstanding protection for fragile automotive components and sub assemblies.
Foams forms fit together to protect
A new system from Ramplas uses standard sized, durable, re-useable transit cases, with a Plastazote lining that has been preshaped with dog-bone interlocking features.
This test is a measure of a material's resistance to self-sustained ignition in an upward flame spread configuration and was designed to simulate a short duration source such as an internal electric fault.
The new foam is based on Kynar PVDF fluoropolymer, a tough engineering thermoplastic that offers a unique balance of properties, has high dielectric strength and is highly stable when exposed to harsh thermal, chemical, and ultraviolet environments.
These properties are now combined with the flexural response, buoyancy and the thermal and acoustic insulation properties given by foaming.
Kynar PVDF has a reputation for high purity and is used in many "clean" applications.
Zotek F foams are physically blown using Zotefoams' unique nitrogen expansion technology.
They contain no pigments, fillers, light stabilisers, processing aids, or other additives that could cause contamination.
Supplied as sheet, Zotek F foams can be fabricated in the same way as PE foams.
Adhesive backing and slitting to form tape, profile cutting, sawing and routing to form precision components.
Thermoforming into simple and complex shapes is also possible as is butt-welding of the sheet panels to form larger parts and laminating to form thicker blocks.
With a completely closed cell structure, Zotek F has a low thermal conductivity, low permeability and low water vapour transmissibility, making it an ideal material for use in seals, thermal insulation, packaging and other applications where flame retardant needs are a major consideration.
