The Project Engineering Services team from Honeywell Process Solutions, co-ordinated from Newhouse in Scotland, and part of the Automation and Control division, has recently developed a fully customised software package created to leverage the capabilities of Zuken's E.series software to execute the design and implementation of safety and control systems globally.
The initial purchase included E.schematic licenses, the design and documentation tool for complex electrical power and control system development.
It also included E.panel for the placement and wiring of devices in panels and on mounting plates.
These were used together to create the first of several customised software packages called the Drawing Generator, which was rolled out for use in design on a single product range around the globe.
Following its success, the decision was made to expand the functionality with other product ranges in 2007.
Norman MacDonald, Honeywell Process Solutions Engineering Manager, outlines the company chose the E.series for the Drawing Generator: "The Drawing Generator was introduced with the objective of introducing global standards into the design process while still allowing the flexibility to provide a certain degree of customisation with our products".
"It will allow us to carry out design re-use, bring about standardisation and still deliver flexibility".
"Furthermore, the additional intelligence configured in this innovative tool will enable us to reduce engineering and construction costs". Request free introductory details about products from Zuken ...
