Steel tester doubles capacity
Electromechanical universal testing machine for the steel industry doubles capacity from 600 to 1200kN and can carry out tensile, compression and bend tests on steel specimens and components.
Zwick has introduced an electromechanical universal testing machine for the steel industry The maximum capacity is double that of the previous model, from 600 to 1200kN, and the machine can carry out tensile, compression and bend tests on steel specimens and components

Digital tester keeps check on solenoid actuators
The Zwick Roell Group reckons it is the first to develop a digital machine specifically for testing solenoid actuators.
It has a long crosshead travel compared with the overall height which makes it suitable for gripping specimens of varying length.
The use of precision measuring equipment and digital electronics means it achieves class 0.5 from 12kN, and class 1 from 2.4 to 1200kN according to ISO 7500 in a single range.
There is no need for the user to make any adjustments or select load ranges.
It has a stiff robust, and stable load frame.
The digitally controlled electromechanical drive and backlash free ball lead screws ensure precise positioning and speed control.
The standard machine also includes 1200kN capacity hydraulic specimen grips.
The determination of proof stress requires an accurate extensometer, and the fully automatic digital macro extensometer meets the requirements of international standards.
While extremely high position control resolution and accuracy guarantee test results and repeatability, a reliable and maintenance-free AC servo drive and low running costs are further advantages.
ISO 6892 is the basis for many international standards for the ambient testing of metals, and defines the procedure for tensile testing.
There are still some differences between the various standards relating to specimen geometry, test speed and software algorithms for result definition.
However, when users select a Testxpert intelligent application program to test according to ISO, EN, ASTM or JIS, they can be reassured that the correct test parameters are used.
This makes testing easier and more reliable. Request a free brochure from Zwick Testing Machines ...
