A new Zwick test system for accurate, fully automatic physical plastics testing incorporates a spectrophotometer for the reflected and transmitted light measurement of plastics.
According to the company, traceable testing and measuring are essential parts of high-precision production and process optimisation.
The Robotest R can perform automated testing in extended temperature or climate ranges and carry out several tests in parallel
The Robotest R robotic testing system is based on a digitally controlled industrial robot possessing high positioning accuracy and flexibility.
Its advantages are claimed to be apparent when faced with complex automation tasks, such as testing in extended-temperature or climate ranges or performing several tests in parallel.
The presentation of a solution employing a spectrophotometer (Hunterlab or Ultra Scan Pro) at a recent trade forum reflects the importance of colour measurement in quality management systems and certifications to DIN, ISO or other standards.
As an example, suppliers to the automobile industry can no longer afford not to test coloured- or dyed-plastic products.
The automated test bench provides objective criteria, while laboratory staff can avoid routine tasks and concentrate on more skilled work.
Subjective influences are eliminated thanks to the high positioning accuracy of the feed system and operation is via the Zwick Autoedition user software.
